Throughout the summer of 2024 I stewarded a grant to build an art studio and host art workshops at Zumwalt Acres, a sustainable farm in rural Illinois. I had an amazing time teaching art to families in the area, and young adults living on the farm for the summer. I also worked with the farm team to construct an art studio space at the farm using a repurposed shipping container.
My goal with this project was to increase art infrastructure in the area, share the skills that I have learned as an artist with others, invite more relationships between the folks working at Zumwalt Acres and families in the area, and celebrate the sustainably stewarded land together through art.
